Who took my Sunday paper?

I don’t subscribe to the local paper but I do get them daily. I’ve been to some store where they have people standing at the entrance or exit soliciting  newspaper subscription for free or at a discounted price. I think somebody must of signed up and either put the wrong address on purpose or by accident.   It’s been awhile since I’ve gotten the paper daily and have yet to see a bill. I don’t read the weekday paper because I get my news on-line and on TV so it either goes straight to the recycle bin or first used as a place mat when I’m eating on the carpet in front of the TV  but I always lookout for Sunday papers because it has all those goodies – coupons, deals, comics and more :) But this morning it was not there! Who too my Sunday paper? :( Went on-line and browse some CVS stores ads to see what’s on sale etc etc.. Saw some stuff that interest me so I plan to go check it out but first thing first – lunch. Not good to walk around on an empty stomach right? I made Fried Mussel Pancake for lunch today.

This is made similar to Cambodian Stuffed Omelet (Banh Xeo) or the Vietnamese Crepe. I like this one a lot because it’s easier to put together and doesn’t take much ingredients either.

I’m now ready to go shopping.  Hit a couple of stores and got things I’ve been eye balling for a while. It was BOGO so couldn’t just let it pass by. :) Spent most of my shopping hours at Daiso which is a Japanese Import Store similar to the 99 cent only. Got a few items from there too mostly kitcheware and cosmetic  Once I’ve test them out I’ll be sure to share the good stuff here.

Dinner time came along and I made the following dishes followed by the same dessert I had the night before – Banana Roti.

Cambodian Hot & Sour Beef Soup

Tip: When I make this soup it’s in a big pot because I intend to enjoy many more servings. Because the water spinach/morning glory can get mushy if left in the soup too long I would only cook as much as  I can consume at that time.  The next time I reheat the soup I can always add more water spinach. This will keep your soup tasting fresh.  :)

This dish was a last minute thing.  Just wanted to have 2 dishes instead of the soup alone. It’s also my first time making this and definitely not the last.
