Chinese Dim Sum + Movie

I’m blaming the heat for my cuckoo head. I got all my days mixed up. For some reason I thought Thursday was Friday and Friday was Saturday, wth ?? I’ve been waiting to get my hair cut for awhile and last weekend I missed the opportunity because by the time I got to my sister’s salon on Saturday she closed already. I didn’t want to let her wait because we had my lil nephew birthday party going on that evening. Although I spend the night there in Stockton, her salon is closed on Sunday. As I thought yesterday was a Saturday I figure I’ll go to Stockton again and take my nephew to go watch a movie. (Last weekend we owe him a movie because we lost when playing pool and losers had to pay for movies and snacks. :D ) Off we go to Stockton.

On our way to Stockton we stopped by to have lunch at Tri-Valley Seafood Restaurant. They serve dim sum all day and that was what we were there for. It bring lots of good memories because when I was working in that area, we always go there on Fridays for dim sum at lunch time. Although as I mentioned in my previous blog post that there’s a new management. I knew what I was going to order already which are the Chicken Claws and the Steamed Pork Ribs. Everything else are selected by impulse. :D We learned our lesson the last time we were there not to order the Sticky Rice in Banana Leaves. It took forever! This time I ordered a plain Soy Sauce Noodles to go along with the other stuff, BUT… it still end up being the last item out! Darn, what’s up with that? Anyways, we still managed to clean everything up and the bill came to about $27 for 2.

Next was a stop at my sister’s salon during her regular business hours LOL. I got my all-around layered haircut with a side-sweep bangs! I hardly get my bangs chop because I have natural wavy hair so this is like a BIG CHANGE for me. I chopped it to about medium length (pix will come soon – maybe :P )

Then since it was a Friday not a Saturday we had to wait for my nephew to get out of school and then go pick him up at his Daddy’s shop. Finally we got to the theater only to find out that “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” does not show in 3D and we have to go back down to Downtown to catch the 3D. That was where we came from, but didn’t want to bother with meter parking so we went uptown. I’ve experience movies in 3D already but my lil nephew hasn’t and he wanted to experience that. I guess we gotta wait til next time. :)

So the movie :D I enjoyed it. I think I laugh louder than some of the kids in there LOL there were certain parts that I find really funny. I heard it was from a book. I didn’t read that book nor did my nephew but we all enjoyed the movie. Would i recommend it? Only if you going with kids cuz my lil nephew and I had side-talks during the movies and so that sort of add to fun. Unlike “Up” that one you can enjoy with or without kids. :P

Once the movie was over, we headed to my Mother house to pick up some good stuff like Kwah-Ko, Sun-Dried Fish and Mam (Pickled Shrimp & Papaya). Packed that stuff up, headed to drop off my nephew and came back home. But not without playing a couple rounds of pool with him, however I lost all 3 games :( damn!
