Life gets in the way…

Today I am struggling. I just don’t feel well. The restless nights, the wandering minds and life’s uncertainties probably caught up with my health. Perhaps I am on the verge of being sick. If for some reason I am unable to post as often as before I would like to apologize in advance. Once again “Thank You” all for your readership, feedback and the encouragement you have given. :)

Khmer Poetry: Room Key

It’s been a long time since I’ve post anything beside food. I wanted to revisit my other interest among many, writing Khmer Poetry. Writing in Khmer allows me to keep my mother tongue (language) alive. In addition it allows me to sharpen my Khmer typing skills and challenge myself with new words.  I have to say that after so long  it was not easy trying to keep the flow and stay within the Khmer poetry writing structure but nevertheless I managed to get it out, or at least IMO.  I hope you enjoy reading as much as

Cambodian Chicken Rice Porridge with Fried Noodle

This is one of my childhood favorite weekend dish while growing up in a 300+ Cambodian refugee apartment complex Park Village in Stockton, CA back in the late 80s. Mainly because the lady in one of the apartment in the complex known as Chanrith’s Mom had the Cambodian fried noodles available for sale at only $1 per a zip lock sandwich bag. We would reserve some of the fried noodles and add it to porridge the next meal. Not that the fried noodles were difficult
